01
Day One

Review Everything First.

Don't wait for the emergency to learn the interface. Spend a calm afternoon exploring — when you need it, your hands should already know.

  • OpenPower on the Oukitel and tap the Beacon icon. Let the home screen fully load.
  • AskTry the AI assistant with a few practice questions. "How do I purify water?" "What's in a basic first aid kit?"
  • BrowseWalk through every Library category — Farming, Shelter, Radio, Security, Medical, Foraging, Hygiene, and more.
  • TestTry voice input, open a guide, zoom a map, check the weather alerts screen.
  • SettingsReview Settings once. Confirm language, check for updates, connect to home WiFi if available.
02
Day Two

Load Your Voices.

Beacon is more than a reference book — it's a vault. Record the voices of the people who matter, while you can.

  • RecordVoice memos from parents, grandparents, spouses, children. Birthday messages, bedtime stories, favorite prayers, family recipes told aloud.
  • MusicLoad the hymns, songs, and audio that steady your family. Worship music. Scripture audio. Sleep sounds for children.
  • InstructionSpoken "how to" memos from the people in your family who know things — how to can tomatoes, how to start the generator, how to change the water filter.
  • TransferCopy MP3 files to the Beacon media folder via USB or the Library upload screen.
03
Day Three

Safeguard Your Documents.

In a crisis, paper can burn, flood, or vanish. Your Beacon becomes a second vault — encrypted, portable, yours.

  • IdentityScans of driver's licenses, passports, birth certificates, social security cards, marriage certificates.
  • PropertyDeeds, titles, rental agreements, insurance policies with policy numbers and agent contacts.
  • MedicalPrescription lists, vaccination records, allergy information, doctor contacts, recent test results.
  • FinancialAccount numbers (offline only), will and trust documents, power of attorney, tax returns.
  • FamilyEmergency contact sheets, photos, letters, anything irreplaceable that lives in a single shoebox right now.
04
Week One and Beyond

Build Your Supplies.

Beacon is the brain. Your pantry, your water, your shelter — those are the body. Knowledge without supplies is a story. Supplies without knowledge is a gamble. You need both.

  • WaterTwo weeks minimum stored. Filtration for long-term. Know your local natural sources.
  • Food30-day pantry first. Then freeze-dried long-term stores. Rotate what you eat regularly.
  • MedicalA real first-aid kit. Prescription buffer. Basic medications. Trauma supplies.
  • PowerPortable solar. Power bank rotation. Hand-crank radio. Spare batteries.
  • ToolsHand tools, fire-starters, cordage, tarps, knives, and what you need to repair what you own.
  • CommsMeshtastic radio, GMRS handsets, a NOAA weather radio, and a plan for meeting up if phones fail.
